I love a good business biography. One of the biggest stories around in recent years is the rise of Nvidia. While that’s accelerated by a crazy amount with the rocket fuel from ChatGPT, it’s been a burning story for many years before that. Nvidia is over 40 years old. Pretty long in the tooth for most of the rest of the Magnificent Seven tech stocks - so branded with its inclusion and the FAANG name, well, loosing its teeth. It’s also the third oldest of the bunch, with only Microsoft and Apple predating it. Along with Apple, it’s also a hardware company.
I’m also interested because a former colleague joined them a few years back. He’s one of the smartest engineers I’ve worked with. Indeed, he’s the first person I had reporting to me as a team lead, and that was only a few years after Nvidia started as a company and began my career as an engineer.
